Another Highly commended image in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. 2025

I’m incredibly honored and deeply grateful to share that another image of mine — titled “Kitten Rock”, has been highly commended in the animal portrait category.

From a record-breaking number of 60,636 entries submitted to this prestigious 61st competition, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year has just announced the winners for this year.

Only 100 photos were selected to be exhibited at the Natural History Museum, London, and I’m both thrilled and proud to have two of my images recognized and awarded this year at what many consider the “Oscars” of nature photography competitions.

I captured “Kitten Rock” during a memorable summer trip to Mongolia in 2024. I was incredibly fortunate to witness and document an extraordinary family of six adorable Pallas’s cat kittens — a truly rare and uncommon sight that offers a unique window into their secretive family life.

We patiently waited in a hide for hours each day, carefully setting it up early so the kittens would grow accustomed to its presence and remain undisturbed during their most active times.

Huge congratulations to all the other awarded and inspiring photographers who took part in this remarkable event and many thanks to the respected jury members for sincerely appreciating and recognizing my work!
