Ten feet away, a wild Canada lynx sat in the snow - completely relaxed, completely at peace, as if our presence required no concern at all.
We shared the silence.
Each slow exhale left a drifting cloud of steam, rising between us and dissolving into the pale winter light.
Time seemed to stretch, the world reduced to frost, breath, and quiet eye contact. No sudden movements, no fear - just mutual acceptance in a frozen landscape.
